Dermatopathology is a subspeciality (combining surgical pathology and dermatology) that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at the microscopic level. With more than 1500 skin disorders, a dermatopathologist must be familiar with several specialty areas of medicine (at a cellular level) to determine potential causes of skin diseases.
