LATISSE® in Orlando
LATISSE® is a prescription treatment (active ingredient - bimatoprost) for thin, inadequate eyelashes. Used as prescribed, the medication can improve eyelash prominence, length, thickness and darkness.
What is LATISSE®?
The medication was first approved to lower intraocular pressure in patients with certain types of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Patients, who were treated with bimatoprost for various eye conditions, experienced eyelash growth as a side effect.
Why choose LATISSE®?
Users may see initial results about 8 weeks after beginning treatments. The growth is gradual and everyone is different, but most people achieve maximum results in 12 to 16 weeks. Your lashes do not just look better after treatment with LATISSE®, they are better.
Is LATISSE® Safe?
According to the FDA, LATISSE eyelash lengthener is safe for most people. However, you may not be a candidate for it if you have certain eye problems or eye surgery. Pregnant women should not use it, and nursing women may want to wait.
How is this Procedure Conducted?
Before you apply, your face must be clean and your makeup and contact lenses removed. Then, you use a sterile applicator (supplied with the medication) to apply LATISSE® by dabbing it on the upper lash line each night. The medication spreads to your lower lash line automatically as you blink. According to the manufacturer, you should never apply it in your eye or onto your lower lid.
How often should I do LATISSE®?
Your provider will discuss your needs for eyelash length, thickness, fullness, pigmentation, and volume of eyelash hairs to determine your exact regimen. Maintenance treatments of 2-3 times per week can be started at any time after that. The choice is yours.
After LATISSE®?
Naturally, when you stop using LATISSE®, your eyelashes will eventually return to their original state. Like the hair on your head, eyelashes sprout, grow for a while, and eventually shed.
If you think it is time for LATISSE®, call our Orlando dermatology practice at 800-827-SKIN (7546) to schedule a consultation and restore the natural beauty to your eyelashes.

The best resource for skin care. Always good advice and care. Sarah Fellenz is great in care and service. The OTC cream she recommended is working very well to reduce/remove skin eruptions. Thank you to your wonderful staff.
